The artwork featured on this commemorative was created by Jacqueline in remembrance of the brave and heroic aircrew of RAF Bomber Command No. 617 Squadron, famously remembered as ‘The Dambusters’, and commemorates the 80th anniversary of Operation Chastise, carried out on the night of 16th May 1943. “Après moi, le déluge” – Lest We Forget.

These beautiful commemoratives have been personally curated by the United Kingdom’s leading Remembrance artist Jacqueline Hurley, to reflect the essence of Remembrance, and presents her highly acclaimed artwork as a beautiful collectable keepsake.

The four commemoratives that make up Volume 1 of Jacqueline’s Commemorative Collection feature artworks that have been specially selected to represent all three services of The Armed Forces, and each is embossed with her unique Remembrance Collection poppy design on their reverse.

Jacqueline uses the stark redness of the worldwide symbol of memorial – the poppy – to create contrast against gritty impressionistic landscapes. All her paintings feature silhouettes which is intended to allow her audience to connect with the works in a more personal and emotional way.
